A Successful National Biennial Liturgical Conference

We have returned from the very successful National Biennial Liturgical Conference in Parramatta, 12-14 March. Teachers, parishioners and diocesan and national representatives from across the country came together to foster and promote liturgy and prayer in Catholic life.

LiturgyHelp was pleased to be a sponsor of the event. All participants were offered free access to our resources throughout the conference.

International speaker Fr Paul Turner spoke about the significance of the Second Vatican Council and how its treasures have been embraced by generations of Catholics. He outlined some of the contemporary challenges facing the Church and how the Eucharist remains a constant source of nourishment and hope.

18 conference workshops ranged from practical sessions for liturgical ministers to more formal seminars on liturgical topics. As part of our sponsorship, LiturgyHelp made available to conference participants the many digital resources that were produced by the event’s workshop presenters.

An emerging focus was the importance of receiving communion from the altar rather than the tabernacle. The forthcoming plenary for the Australian Church was also discussed, particularly in relation to prayer and liturgy.

The conference also provided us with a great opportunity to meet new and current subscribers and demonstrate the many outstanding features of the LiturgyHelp online service.
